Grand County Pet Pals, Inc.Adoption Program

Bud Q.The main goal of the Shelter is to attempt to find each unique animal a home.  All animals will have been spayed or neutered.  Adoption fees range from $30 to $75 and include rabies vaccine and county tags.  The difference in the fees charged depends upon whether an animal comes in with current rabies and/or county tags.  If the animal has tags, the cost is less.

Grand County Pet Pals also has a Senior Adoption Program.  This program allows for lower to no fee and applies to both seniors adopting animals and to anyone adopting a senior animal.  If you are interested in a senior adoption of either kind, please call the Shelter for information about the fees.

If you are interested in adopting an animal, there are two requirements that must be met.

  1. You must be 18 years of age or older with a valid ID.

  2. If you are a renter, we must have a letter of permission from the property owner indicating that it is OK for you to adopt and keep a pet on the premises.
